Kalrez® Spectrum™ 7075

New Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 seals deliver longer service life initial force

New Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 parts from DuPont Performance Elastomers deliver longer service life and enhanced sealability. They have an extremely low compression set and a higher thermal resistance allowing processing at service temperature of up to 327ºC. With excellent thermal cycling and an even better chemical resistance than Kalrez® 4078, Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 is the ideal sealing solutions for many applications in chemical and hydrocarbon processing. So if you want to reduce downtime, maintenance costs and increase MBTR while improving productivity, try new Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 and find out what it can do for you and your business.

Kalrez ® Spectrum 7075 designed specifically for the needs of the chemical and hydrocarbon processing industry

Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 broadens the family of Spectrum sealing solutions with a compound that has enhanced physical performance properties. The sealing force retention of Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 is about 10% better than Kalrez® 4079. To provide even greater performance in applications where low friction is required, Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 O-rings have a glossier finish than other Kalrez® parts. It is a carbon-black filled compound with mechanical properties designed for improving sealing performance in temperature cycling applications. All this results in improved sealing and longer service life.

Initial field test reports confirm: Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 is the ideal choice for difficult sealing environments. Initial field test reports substantiate our performance expectations for Kalrez® Spectrum 7075.

Application Chemicals Temperature Previous material Results
Mechanical seals Multiple chemical Up to 300°C Various FFKMs tested Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 chosen as an environments upgrade from Kalrez® 4079 because the mechanical properties of Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 allowed the manufacturer to use lower spring tension and smaller components for seal design innovation
Quick disconnects Marlotherm® LH 270°C for 1008 h Kalrez® 4079 50% reduced volume swell combined with a low coefficient of thermal expansion provides reliable on/off performance
Proprietary Not applicable Cycling between 200°C and 350°C New application Various elastomers tested Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 was the only elastomer that could be used for several hundred cycles due to its sealing force retention
Hot glue application nozzle Solvents 100 - 250°C Kalrez® 4079 and Kalrez® SpectrumTM 6375 tested Mechanical properties and chemical resistance of Kalrez® Spectrum 7075 reduced variability of glue flow in the nozzle
Rotary joint assembly Hot oil 200 - 300°C Kalrez® 4079 Better sealing performance
